About Alix

Hurdy Gurdy are privileged to present... ALIX JEAMBRUN_BIGOIS

Alix Jeambrun-Bigois studied graphic design before getting passionate about illustration and pattern design.
She has been recognised as a ‘Talent’ by D&AD and has been a presenter at The Enquiry Desk in Session at Pick Me Up, London. To create her amazing illustrations she uses a unique technique: combining different pieces of textiles with screen-printing. She gets her inspiration from her childhood, memories, Dada and the old toile de jouy’s illustrative technique. She is passionate about what she does and loves to interpret facts, stories and events, turning them into illustration. As a textile/pattern designer and illustrator, she takes the opportunity to create visual dialogues between people, objects and places. She loves to combine found pictures and Victorian elements with bright coloured cut out shapes, making her work look both retro and contemporary.

Alix is currently working on a series of textile pattern designs illustrating well-known fairytales. Her designs are made for home interior applications such as bed linens, cushions, tea towels and wallpapers.
